Hello…it’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog. Life sure has a way of sneaking by, or more whizzing by, I guess. I’ve been busy with family life, motherhood, interior design school and so on, so this blog hasn’t been updated in 6 months. So sorry for that. Today that changes…I’m back!
Towards the end of last year, 2017, I was burning out mentally and emotionally when it came to my art and design pursuit. I knew it was still my passion and that, ultimately, I will be able to merge the two worlds together in a unique and meaningful way, but I was feeling blah and just wondering, “Where am I going with all of this?” and “Why?” Maybe you can relate to that feeling. So after some thought, I decided at the beginning of the year, that I would reinvest in my art practice and really commit to it again. And, can I just say, I have really missed it! Life is sneaky that way. I didn’t really realize how far away I had gotten from what I really love doing until I started doing it again.
NOW IN 2018
So here we are almost to the end of February 2018, and the reinvestment of working on my art practice is already starting to energize me. I have sold a couple of paintings, I’m creating in my studio almost every day, I’ve plugged back into volunteering my time in an activity related to my art, and I will have a piece in two different juried shows in March. I’m excited–I really have missed the art community and I thrive on interaction with it.
I still am studying Interior Design, and being able to create some art has re-energized me in this, too. I’m working towards offering interior design consulting/color consulting services sometime within the next 6 months, so keep an eye out for that. My hope is that I can use my design knowledge to fuel my art practice and vice-versa. I can’t say enough great things about the Interior Design program at Johnson County Community College!
I am committed to pushing myself to create the best art and design I can and sharing it with you. I want to be able to offer custom art and design solutions for my clients that will provide them with beauty and joy–aligning with their vision for their spaces. That’s where I need your help! For those of you reading this, what does this look like? How can I offer you art and design services to meet your needs/wants? Share with me in the comments section or my my Facebook art page, http://www.facebook.com/susanrighterart . Also, I’d love to see some of you at my two upcoming shows:
